Your first visit

Your first visit should feel simple.

You do not need to decide which treatment you need before you arrive. We start by listening, then decide together.

What happens

From listening to a clear next step

01

Start with your concern

We begin with your symptoms, health history and recovery goals, including how sleep, stress and everyday life affect your wellbeing.

02

Understand the options

We discuss acupuncture, appropriate hands-on care and other suitable options, with clear fees and next steps.

03

Treatment starts with agreement

Treatment begins only after options, possible responses and alternatives are understood.

04

Leave with clear next steps

Before you leave, we explain the follow-up plan and anything useful to know.

Before you come

  • Complete the health and consent form in advance or at the clinic.
  • Wear comfortable clothing.
  • No special diet is required, but avoid arriving after a long period without food.

ACC

  • Bring your claim number and injury information if you already have an ACC claim.
  • If a new injury has not been lodged, an eligible healthcare provider must lodge it first.

ACC acupuncture usually starts within one year of injury, with up to 12 visits in 12 weeks from the first treatment; further funding needs approval, and treatment declined or not funded by ACC is payable at the agreed private rate.

Nervous about needles?

Nyx takes a gentle, comfort-focused approach and can explain each step, slow down and adapt to your response. If you still prefer no needles, we can discuss Needle-Free Acupoint Stimulation, acupressure or other hands-on options.

Younger visitors

Younger people are welcome. For anyone under 16, we recommend having a parent, guardian or support person attend the first visit where practical.
