Is it only muscle tension?

Discomfort can relate to a combination of movement, workload, sleep and other factors. A sore neck after a long day does not automatically mean your posture is damaged. Likewise, pain in the shoulder joint should not automatically be treated as a neck problem.

Tell us where symptoms begin, what brings them on and whether pain, tingling or numbness travels into an arm.

What does an assessment look at?

Nyx may explore comfortable movement, the location and pattern of symptoms, relevant injury history and the activities that are difficult. Arm symptoms or weakness can change which healthcare assessment you need.

You do not need to arrive knowing whether to choose acupuncture or massage. Start with the problem and agree on an appropriate next step.

How is neck and shoulder care planned?

Nyx considers where you feel discomfort, how turning your head or lifting your arm feels, and the demands of work and daily activity. Together, you can discuss gentle acupuncture, appropriate hands-on care and movement advice.

Choose a practical goal, such as checking traffic more comfortably, working with fewer interruptions or sleeping with less discomfort. Your feedback helps guide adjustments at each visit.

What can I change between visits?

Notice which tasks and long periods in one position aggravate symptoms. Where comfortable, vary tasks and take movement breaks rather than forcing repeated stretches into pain.

Use a meaningful goal—turning to check traffic, sleeping more comfortably or working without repeated interruptions—to review progress and decide whether the plan needs adjusting.

When to seek medical assessment

New or worsening arm or leg weakness, problems walking, symptoms after significant trauma, or severe neck pain with fever or feeling very unwell need prompt medical assessment. Sudden neurological symptoms or an emergency require urgent care; call 111 when needed.
