What might I feel?

Acupuncture uses very fine, single-use needles. You may notice a brief prick as a needle goes in, then an ache, tingling, warmth or little sensation. Different areas and different people can feel different.

A strong or sharp pain is not something you need to endure to get a result. Tell Nyx if a sensation is unpleasant, persistent or worrying so it can be checked and adjusted.

What does gentle acupuncture mean?

Gentle, comfort-focused acupuncture means paying attention to your response, explaining what is happening and adjusting stimulation and pace. It is an approach to care, not a promise that you will feel nothing.

You can ask for a slower start, a pause or to stop. Agreeing to an appointment does not take away your choice about treatment.

What if I still prefer no needles?

That preference is enough to start a conversation. Ask about Needle-Free Acupoint Stimulation, acupressure or other suitable hands-on care. Nyx will explain the different options and assess what fits your situation.

If you have fainted with needles before, mention it before treatment. You do not need to test your tolerance by pushing through.

What reactions can happen afterwards?

A small bruise, mild soreness or brief light-headedness can occur. Tell your practitioner about reactions and ask what to expect. If you feel drowsy or faint, allow time to recover before driving.

Serious complications are uncommon but possible, including infection or injury to an organ. Appropriate training and safe practice reduce risk; they cannot make any procedure completely risk-free.

When to seek urgent care

New chest pain or difficulty breathing after needling needs urgent medical assessment, even if it starts hours later. Call 111 for severe symptoms. Tell the medical team that you recently had acupuncture.
